Assumendo come base di analisi le classiche attività manageriali: programmazione, organizzazione e controllo il contributo propone una verifica empirica del contenuto dell’attività manageriale posta in essere nei Comuni dai segretari generali con incarico di direzione generale e dai direttori generali esterni. Attraverso il ricorso all’indagine empirica si cerca di comprendere se l’azione manageriale svolta nei Comuni dai direttori generali esterni assume contenuti diversi da quella posta in essere dai segretari generali con incarico di direzione generale.
Starting out from analysis of the traditional management activities: planning, organizing and control, this study is an empirical evaluation of the substance of the management activity carried out in town halls by municipal executives with general management functions and external city managers.
